If its one of the really old beige powermacs, then it most likely uses ADB for its mouse and keyboard, which means you'll have to use an ADB keyboard for it to work properly.

IIRC, Apple dropped support for the Beige G3 PowerMacs in 10.3. Debian PPC is an option.

There are supposedly hacks to get OSX installed on them. But it won't be a very enjoyable experience. It would be like installing WinXP on a Pentium 200. Actually, probably worse.

Officially, other than the Beige G3, it was literally in the manual that it isn't supported if you don't have USB ports. Stick with OS9.

Yes, if it has a PCI slot, it should take most USB 1.1 cards, which Apple has a generic driver for.

Powermacs that are pre G3s don't support OS higher than 9, so I don't recommend you waste your time trying. If the computer is a 7500, 8500, 9500 series, then best to not do anything because any money spent upgrading is a waste IMO. It's like trying tp upgrade your P166 machine....... not much you can really do.

Yes. The G3's all have a 7xx CPU model number.
