Mac OSX on black macbok freezing

it freezes for around 2 minutes, i can watch all of my CPU usage drop to nothing. and my mouse cursor just spins in circles.

runnin vr 10.5.7

has done this for a while, and tried repairing my disk before that, but it did nothing. i have been using Win 7 for a while instead, but just got back...

any suggestion?s

It probably is not a hard drive issue if you did not notice the same problem in Windows. You may want to try a clean install, there could be a background process (an example would be dropbox, littlesnitch, teleport, etc.) that is causing the problem and the most direct way to get rid of it would be to just start from scratch.

well, i was forced to when my install crapped out updating to the new version, so im on windows now and need to see if i can recover anything in osx as it would not let me sve any of my older files and do the install, had a lot of stuff on there too...
