Running OS X 10.04

I have downloaded about 10 .dmg files and when I go to open them, I get checksum errors with disk copy. I doubt they have somehow all gotten corrupted, so I have no idea what the problem might be. I am a newbie to Mac's, so I am not too sure on this one... ;)

The dmg files are pretend disks. The checksum simply detects the bit code order of the package thru some sort of mathmatical functions. If the sum is bad then the file is not in the correct order and probably corrupted.

But since you have 10 files downloaded....

First things you do is when having weird issues is to use disk utitilty to repair permissions.

Then how did you/were did you download the files? If you used a browser try right click on then select download. Or maybe try a different browser/ or see if you can get the files from a different location.

10.0.4? You might want to consider upgrading...

If 10 files have been downloaded and 10 are corrupt, I'd guess RAM problems. If you want, leave a link and I'll try downloading the file to see if it is corrupt for me too. Definitely check out drag's suggestions though.

That is outdated, wait for a week untill OS 10.3 is out. As for the file issues have you run Disk Checker and tried downloading one file at a time?
