Mac or Sumthing more powerful

i intend to go for a laptop for gaming, CAD application, 3D editing and happen to check out some of them like Mac BookPro Dual Core (seem to look impressively good) also happened to check systems from Alienware, Hypersonic, Voodoo; also looking at the story from Cnet it has put me into utter confusion. should i go for the MAC or the other ones. if i choose MAC will i be able to run windows applications as i heard that you can install WindowsXP currently on an Apple machine or i have to opt for softwares from Apple themselves. culd u ppl suggest a good option
 
I think the MacBook Pro is a great option, but you may find yourself doing a lot of your CAD work in Windows. Using Boot Camp you can dual-boot windows and OS X, so you are good to go there.
