MAC Operating System

I am seriously looking into acquiring a dual PowerMAC with 1GB of RAM, can anybody recommend any books to familiarize myself with the operating systems and macs in general?

I know apple stores offer training classes but the closest one is over an hour away from where I live 🙁

Mac OS X: The Missing Manual is the best book around from what I've heard. Also, there's a very good run down on the archetechture of OS X on Kernelthread. But the best way is to just jump in and ask questions about anything you don't understand.

I believe i have the first version of the missing manual, I might wait for the Tiger one to be released, any sites to recommend? I have found some but at the moment I am restricted on where I can go *work*, and I can not remember the site's addresses

There are any number of Mac books out there, not sure about recent ones pertaining to OSX in particular, but depending on how serious a user you are, the Mac OSX is pretty damn easy, and if you are proficient on Windows, it shouldn't be difficult at all to figure out.....Plus there are a million documents under the Support Tab at Apple.com that should help out with the basics........
