Mac Mini update soon?

I been holding out to see what the next Mac Mini will be, and it's taking them forever to release a new Mini. The current one they are charging a perverse amount of money for comes with a laughable Core Duo and integrated video with a max of 2GB ram. So I'm hoping to see a Core 2 Duo Mac Mini soon with an option for maybe 3 or 4 GB of ram.

What do you guys think? And yes I tried to find a dirt cheap Core Solo so I can do it myself, but they are going for around $500 - ewwww

Well how soon do you need it? They are reaching the end of their product cycle but probably won't be changed for another few months. Can you wait that long?

As you said, the last update was several months ago. But apparently there are no immediate upgrade rumors: Link

I noticed they changed the the status to "Don't Buy - Update soon." Last week it was saying: " Buy only if you need it - Approaching the end of a cycle"

I have a Macbook now with 2GHz Core 2 Duo with 2GB of ram, and a 120GB hard drive. This machine has been really good to me. :) Looking for a tiny, quiet, fast desktop solution.

I wanted to get a macbook... but I needed something to run aperture and caved on an iMac. mac mini would have been good too... but that lack of decent video card (or better yet, a true midrange mac) killed it.

I hope they use something better than the Intel X3000 video. I doubt it, but it sure would be nice, eh?

And technically, you could fit 4GB into the current model if you can find a good deal on a pair of 2GB DDR2 sticks - right? (Unsure...)
