Mac Mini has intermittent network access

My in-laws recently got a new Mac Mini with an Intel chip to replace their dead G4. It seems to have intermittent network access when attached to my router, while all other computers (both PC and Mac) on the network are fine. One second, it will be working fine, the next, nothing. Some webpages load instantly (even non-cached ones), and some take up to 20s. It's seemingly random. The Mini is running OS X. Any ideas?
