mac mini esata hack - OMG

I created a document here that you can read: Mac Mini eSATA Mod

If you have a few bucks, some free time, and want to keep your mini, I DEFINITELY recommend this mod.


Keep in mind that this was being used as a storage/time machine drive. All the tests were pretty accurate as I saw when transferring about 400GB of data earlier today. I am about to install my OS onto it which should increase the size of my grin 10 ten fold!

I did some hacks back in the day, when I had a Mini as my main rig. iirc the Mini PCIe slot is adaptable, so theoritically you could run whatever PCIe card you wanted...

eSATA is probably as far as I will go due to other limitations such as the RAM (2GB already) and the PSU
