Mac Mail

So my mac mail has begun to act weird... it is removing spaces.

For example in a recent work e-mail I typed "I'm afraid I linked to"

Everyone who views the e-mail in outlook 2003 on windows XP sees: "I'mafraidI linked to"

Help... this makes me look like a moron to other people.

I just checked my webmail. There it is reading / rendering fine. So I think this is deffinetly a Mac vs Windows thing.

I also recieved a reply to my message from the customer. His inline reply shows: "I'm?afraid?I "

These question marks ? show up between MANY more words all over the message. The customer is on gmail.

What version of OS X are you using? I'm using Mail in Leopard and I haven't had any issues. I didn't use Mail in Tiger, so I can't really comment on that.

This shouldn't cause any font issues, as it should just default to "Arial" on the Windows side, but I would change this in the preferences just to be safe. Select something that all Windows machines have like "Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, etc... "

I suspect this is another form of the line break problem which is caused by different implementations of email standards (RFC). There's not much you can do:

- Make sure you use the same mail client like the reciever :disgust:
- Or configure Apple Mail to send HTML formated mails and make sure it sends the mail in question formated and not plain text by including at least one format tag like font type or color 🙁
