Mac Keyboard for pc

*shudders* why would you want to use one of thise horrid things? i have to use one all day at work and i HATE IT. short, mushy keystroke, and not to mention the $60 price if you are getting one new. *bleck*

I actually like the feel of it (the G4 one).
Its also nice and compact. If it werent for the PrtScn key, I would have one.
I use a MS Office keyboard.
 
its the full size g4 one that i use at work. i use an old lexmark spring key keyboard (as opposed to new, cheap rubber dome keyboards) and i like the fact that you really know that you have struck the key, instead of just getting a mushy downward motion and a soft sound. i've personally never met anyone who likes the mac keyboards (or the mice, for that matter) until now. well, to each their own, i guess.

thanks for the info guys. I like it because its nice and compact. yeah $60 buck for a keyboard is kind of xpensive for a keyboard, hey u never know when u could find a good deal here in the forum.

Slashdot had a thing about mac os X running on a PC.
 
note that the ctrl and alt keys are flipped. you can remap them, of course.

about MacOS on a PC: you can get darwin, the non-GUI part of OS X. no GUI yet though, so you'd have to run X11, which makes darwin pointless - you get all the wierd stuff from macOS with no benefits. if you really want BSD, use freebsd, netbsd, or openbsd 😉
 
The cool black and clear "no button push down to click" mac mice work also. They look cool but only one button is no fun.
 
I have not had the chance to play with a G4 keyboard yet, but the keyboards that came with the G3s and the keyboards on the powerbooks and ibooks are TERRIBLE. On the notebooks, I honestly don't know how they did it. It would take YEARS to perfectly design a keyboard that bad. 🙂 Thankfully, I don't have to use those any more. If you ask me, there is nothing that beats an original IBM buckling spring clicky PS2 keyboard (not to mention you get to use it on a computer that isn't a MAC 🙂).
