mac hard drive in a PC

I have a normal IDE hard drive in a G3, but I guess the filesystem is different. Is there some type of software where I can view the volume?

Do you want to just use the HD in your PC, or do you want to get data off it? If you don't need the data and just want the space, you can jsut format it to a windows friendly filesystem and it will work fine. If you need data off it, I know there are utilities to read it, but don't know the names of any of them off the top of my head.

You need to find something that reads HFS+ or UFS filesystems, depending on what the drive was formated. Most likely you'll end up finding something you have to pay for, good luck.

MacDrive 5 does it for windows XP. i think there is another app but i can't remmeber the name. Maybe search google?
