A teacher of mine uses a Mac to create his class notes, he claims that he cannot post them on the web due too incompapitblites? Whatever, html is universal man. He uses word, so if he sends them to me (the doc file, not html) is there a convertor I will need to read the Mac files??? I will post it on my site for my class, but I want to make sure everyone will be able to get them.

Word98 for the mac has the same file format as Wor97/Word2000 for the PC. You could just tell your teacher to use the "Save as HTML" function of Word98.

Your teacher is a dumbass.

He can e-mail you the .doc file and you will be able to read it. He could also post it on the web as HTML or a link to the .doc file. He just doesn't know how to do it or doesn't want to do it.

As others have stated, there shouldn't be a problem 🙂 Other commom Mac word processing programs such as ClarisWorks also contain translators that will change the document automatically.

You say this like I don't know 🙂 It is just that he was like "I have tried, sent it to the secretary and it didn't work...." blah, blah, blah. It makes me wonder what a PhD is really worth.
