Are the refs and announcers as blindingly stupid as they seem to be? I can't understand how time was possibly added to the clock. It started late, and after the 3-pointer there were 0.0 seconds left. If anything I could see taking time OFF if there had been some time left after the 3-pointer, but how in the hell do you add time? Is this inverse time day?

It was a makeup call.

Akron got screwed cause the clock started late. Therefore, refs gave them some more time to get off one more play.

As for me, I'm just pissed that Akron didn't blow out Miami (OH).

I always want the best possible field in the NCAA tournament, and Akron not being in there makes upsets in the tournament all that much less likely.

How did that screw Akron? If Miami had scored with less than 0.4 seconds (or whatever the delay was) left the refs should have just disallowed the basket.

If the clock started on time, would the buzzer beater have counted? It was shot with the game clock at 1.5 seconds, so did the clock actually start within 1.5 seconds of when it should have been started?

If not, then Akron got screwed.

man that was painful. seems like they could have come up with a better solution. the odds of akron making something out of that were less than slim. and i was rooting for Miami.

From my mental counting the delay was far less than 1.5 seconds. More like 0.5 seconds. So yeah the shot still would have counted, by quite a bit really.
