nullack is wondering: i am thinking of getting a new laptop at some point, however i have been disappointed with what some of the manufactures are churning out these days. it sounds silly but i prefer something with a bit of style, aesthetically pleasing. i have even considered changing somewhat to a tablet pc -> http://www.tabletkiosk.com/tkstore/pc/viewPrd.asp?idcategory=17&idproduct=121

anyhow one option that has recently appeared is the macbook -> http://www.apple.com/macbook/macbook.html coupled with bootcamp http://www.apple.com/macosx/bootcamp/ in order to run windows. the product is currently in beta and i was wondering if anybody had used it?

A friend of mine has XP (maybe Vista now, I'm not sure) on his Mac Pro and he loves it, the only downside is that any 3rd party hardware that you buy might not work in OS X. For example, he put an 8800 in when they first came out and it worked fine in Windows (once he got the power stuff sorted out) but there are no drivers for OS X and the card doesn't support EFI so you don't get any POST visuals.

I'd say go for the Macbook in your situation...not to mention, it'll hold its worth much better than other alternatives under normal circumstances.
