Why not just click on the Finder in the dock? You can tell it to have that as teh default window that opens.

stacks.. bleh.. it should be called just grid. I don't find the value in toppling list.
But back to the point, he could be like me.. I hide my dock, and having quick desktop access is nice w/o having to go down to the bottom of the screen. Altho, I'd argue we trump all this using quicksilver![]()

Well, there was the right click, and make alias. Then move that copy to where ever you want.
Or hold down option+command and drag. should get a little arrow.
