Does anyone have any idea how to set up my network preferences in Windows XP so that I can use my PC's wireless card in my apartment which is ridden with Mac users and a Mac Airport... it'd be cheaper than buying a wireless router... anyone know how to do it?

Please help,

Thanks!

Yeah, but I don't know if there are any additional settings that I have to search for for it, because usually with the PC it just automatically detects it and I can connect.

But this Airport router has a password protection on it, so whenever I try to access the network it asks me for a network Key and a confirmation of that key.... I don't know if that's the password to the network or not.

if it is, then the password isn't working... if it's not, what is it?

It should only be asking for the WEP or WPA key. You should be able to put in the hex key or the passphrase, and it should work just fine.

Airports are made out of the same hardware as the linksys type stuff, and they follow the same standards. ;)

That's what I was looking at, the WEP or WPA key, is that equal to a password? because it's apparently not working.

Make sure you've selected the proper type of authentication. How did you setup the airport?

If you have permission to use it, i'm sure the owner will assist you with anything you need to know.

If it isn't then get off my network.
