Mac 9.0 file to WinXP? Help....

Friend of mine going to convert Mac to WinXP.
I have absolutely no idea how Mac works.
Bascially, she just need to transfer some document and file to WinXP via floopy Media, or even USB memory stick.

Is it possible?

For example, if She save word document into a floopy drive, will WinXP able to read it and use it? (OfficeXP?)

thanks,

p.s. is there any USB memory media that both machine can use?

I may be wrong, but I think Mac's can read IBM formatted floppies. Maybe they can write on them too. I'm pretty sure that WinXP can't read Mac discs though.

Macs can read disks formatted on Windows machines, yet no Mac comes with a floppy drive included. Windows cannot read Mac formatted disks natively, so you would need to format on PC.
I would recommend an external Firewire hard drive for transferring data. They are cross-platform. There are also USB drives if that's what you need.
Macs can network with PC's through a LAN.

okay..I am sure, I am 100% confused now! 🙁

How about suggest me the easiest way to transfer around 200MB of DATA/ Doc/ Pic from Mac to Brand new WinXP?
OH, did I mention cheap is good!!!! And I assume this is ONE time transferr only.

thanks,

copy it over the damn internet. Set up and FTP server. Make a buch of floppy discs, by a CD burner, there's a million ways to do this...
