MA did it the right way, going after the employers. THAT is the way liberals do it.

AZ & other red states ignore the employers because business can do no wrong.

So I skimmed the farking AZ bill. They still concentrate most of it on chasing down the illegals, not the employers. Having to file reports when the employers get caught, whoopeedoo. Kill them with paperwork.

You didnt read it, and it was obvious to us by your post about not cracking down on employers. You have no idea what you are talking about and you are making yourself look like a fool.

Good for them. I'm very surprised that something like this could happen in an ultra-left state. This is just another sign that Obama needs to heed: the public is fed up with illegal immigration and wants it fixed. He's on the wrong side of this issue, even within his own party.

While it all looks good, this seems kind of fucked up:

and would require the state to give legal residents priority for subsidized housing.

So it would continue to possibly give illegal residents subsidized housing. I'd hate to see what the protocol is before this. How the fuck do you subsidize housing for illegals?

It IS Massachusetts after all. They need to take baby steps. First they elect republican senator, next thing you know they start making some logical decisions. You never know, there might be hope for them yet :D.

Well according to the Obama administration immigration is solelythe responsibility of the federal government so why are you saying that it is the responsibility of a business to check immigration status?

Because it is illegal to be in this country without the permission of the United States government, it is reasonable to assume that anyone who applies for a job is here legally. If that person is here illegally, it is a failure of government not the business.

You've probably got 9-10 million in Cali, AZ, NM, Texas, Oklahoma, Colorada alone.

Not some much here, Oklahoma, anymore. We passed a law in 2008 that caused the numbers to drop dramatically. Not that we still don't have an illegal problem, but in the span of about a month in Tulsa the numbers went way way way down. It was and is easily noticeable.

Maybe not, Gov. Deval is leading in the polls for re-election.

Like AZ, if enough states enact such laws the immigration problem will take care of itself.

Yep. It'll speed up the process. Soon the only safe-haven for illegals will be the ivory towers of NYC liberals, can't wait to see their reaction to 12 million Mexicans on their doorsteps!

All businesses are required to conduct checks on the personnel they hire and whether they are legally able to work in this country. It's one thing if an illegal fakes or steals such documentation. It's completely different when a company knowingly hires an illegal to cut costs. The latter only serves to reinforce to illegals that they are wanted and will be hired here in the US.

NYC liberals are pro illegal?
Can I assume they dont actually have to deal directly with them on a daily basis?

That is simply outstanding.

Disclaimer: I am 100% for LEGAL immigration under the current application vetting process. And I would even support the issuance of MORE H1B visas and the expediting of citizenship for those holders who contribute professional and technical skills legally to the benefit of the US!

Yep. Employers are required to fill out an I9 for each employee. Failure to do so has its punishments.

The main problem with this is fake ID's. Of course, if the employer makes every effort verify the prospective employee's ID, they are held harmless.

And LOL if you think a national ID would fix this. We already have a national ID...its called a passport, and they are faked too.
