Hi, I am having problems with the onboard audio. I have downloaded the latest driver from the Biostar site to know avail! There are jumpers on the audio header but the Biostar documentation does not address these?

Operating system is Windows ME

TIA

The driver on the CD that came with the board doesn't work? Did you run the setup utility or let windows find the driver?

you should leave the jumpers in the default position (one jumper is at the end of the header and one is 3rd from the end)

*edit*
oops the info i gave above is for the m7vig that ive built many systems using... but it looks like the header for the m7vig pro is a little different

from looking at a pic, it looks like there are jumpers on the first 3 (starting at the 1 nearest the pci slot) then the 4th spot only has a single pin and no jumper. then on the 5th it also has a jumper... the last 2 have no jumpers(the last 2 are nearest the outside edge of the board)

Yes, I tried the driver that came with the mobo and let windows find the driver and finally downloaded it off of the Biostar site. All had the same effect, when I turn the volume all of the way up you can hear some sound. But is very faint!

Yes I've found the sound from some Biostar boards too low for unamplified speakers and headphones. And some amplified ones for that matter.

Thanks DieHardware, I tried a pair of amplified speakers and they work fine! I never thought this would be the problem until you mentioned it.
