Bought my Emachines m6810 last September, noticed the common hinge crack a month or two later, sent it in around November, they RMA'd it no problem for me. But... about a month ago I noticed my right hinge is cracked again. Should I sent it in again? Is the wear and tear or shipping my lappy worth it? Anyone else have a repeat experience like me?

Let me say I absolutely LOVE this laptop, crack or no crack. Thanks.

I bought my M6805 more than a year ago when they first came out. Never could find any hinge problems with mine. I just noticed a crack in the left hinge last week for the first time. I don't notice any functional problems associated with it so I don't worry about it. I think even eMachines said it poses no problem and is purely cosmetic.

You can send it in if you want but you may decide the down time is not worth the effort.

Yeah, I saw those a decent little bit when I was working at Best Buy. They aren't a functional problem, just cosmetic. And like phreak said, if they will pay for it, why not.

I'll probably end up sending it in within a month or so. I'm on a trip this coming week so I'll wait till at least after that. I just have these horrific images of UPS deliverymen throwing my dear laptop around from pallet to pallet like they're trying to break up a bag of ice! I know it's not structural, but it still bothers me. Thanks for the input.

Anyone know by chance if these count as strikes on their lemon policy? I think I remember if you have to send it in 3 times for repairs they replace it as a lemon, but does this hinge casing count against that?
