M6805 combo drive problems

Hey,
I recently reformatted my emachines m6805 and installed a fresh copy of XP. Everything was working fine until I tried to install Nero on it. Now my laptop CD-RW/DVD drivers have gone corrupt. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the drivers but they give me the same error message: "Windows cannot start this hardware device because its configuration information (in the registry) is incomplete or damaged. (Code 19)". I tried uninstalling nero and reinstalling but it doesn't work. I can't slip in any CD's cause it just doesn't detect the drive.... DAMN NERO. I can't find the drivers anywhere online. Please help. The drive is a liteon LSC-24082K combo drive.

try going into Device Manager and uninstalling the device, then rebooting and letting Windows pick up on/install the device again.

if that doesnt work too hot...

might try booting off your Windows CD and performing a Repair Install. Maybe it will copy over the drivers for the device again and thus freshen things up...
