Hey I hope this is the right forum for this post. In either case, has anybody tried FarCry on their M6805? I have the stock M6805 with the vid card o/ced to 421/225 (wanted to keep o/c modest) and I can only run it at 800x600 with medium settings relatively smoothly. Even then, it jerks around every once in a while (especially during the transition from indoor to outdoors and from water to land etc.) I have all the programs turned off in the background and I have the latest catalyst drivers. I personally don't see why it's running so slow especially when ppl with much worse desktop systems (xp1700+ p4 2ghz etc)are saying they can run it smoothly at 1024x768. The only thing I can think of that would bog down this system is that there's only 64megs of vid ram and only 512megs of system ram. Does anybody else have experience with it on M6805? I'd definitely like tips on getting this gorgeous looking game to run faster.

I think it's the 512 MB of RAM that's holding you back. I have the same problem with UT2k4 with all the settings jacked up to highest, etc. Solution is to probably just buy another stick of memory to replace the 256 MB stick that's accessible, or if you're more adventurous, do the whole lot, heh.

lol yeah I guess I'll upgrade the ram. I def want to get into that second slot just because I don't feel right having a 512stick in one slot and a 256 in another ;). Heh, can anybody tell me where to find pc2700 sodimms for a decent price?

I don't think it's the RAM. The FarCry demo runs fine on my desktop (512MB, XP 2500 @ 2.2, FX5900) so unfortunately I think it's the 9600 holding you back.
