Ok here's my dilema, i have M3N78-VM that a bought a few years ago. i bought it a dual core thinking of the furture.. now it's time to upgrade the system and i just notice i can slap this Phenom II X6 on it should i or go for another CPU i don't really wanna update the Mobo as i don't really need too not sure if this board OC 's good or not if anyone had Experience with it and was able to OC what CPU would work best Even if it can't OC i would be satisfy with just the Normal speed until October where i would plan to do a Complete System Overall.. so is this the CPU i shoudl be buying for this Board ?!

Only DOwner on the Board is the DDR2 :(

This Puppy is only 228$

If the Mobo supports it, why not? You're going to notice quite the improvement at Stock speeds(depending on what you do with your PC), so whether that Mobo overclocks well or not shouldn't be too much an issue. How muuch RAM you have might be something to consider.

I definately will Upgrade the Vcard if i only need to Upgrade the CPU and not the Board.

Since you're thinking about getting back into editing, can't go wrong with the X6...2 extra cores + Turbo for only a little more $$ than the 965. Worth the investment, IMO.

I'd get the 1055T and if you plan to do heavy OCing you should get a heavy duty heatsink. Something along the lines of a Megahalem, Venomous X, or Noctua NH-D14. The Coolermaster Hyper 212+ and the Sun Core Contact are good value OCing heatsinks.
