M3 vs R34 GTR vs 350Z vs vs Boxster vs S2K video....

This video is really very inaccurate. An E46 M3 would out perform a 350z on a road course, and the R34 skyline wasn't even in the race to compete. It was there to film the 350z from the rear as it took corners and such. This is also why the M3 and S2k were practically stuck behind the skyline. This vid has been reviewed a ton since it came out. The E46 M3 was a benchmark car for the test, and would have out performed all of the others (except the R34 IMHO) if this was a all out road race. Just my .02

Well, I have another vid that was posted here a while ago... G35 coupe vs Z vs E46 M3... again gridded according to power-weight ratio. G35 in front and M3 way back. The race was on the same circuit again... without slower cars in the way and pushing from the beginning, the M3 ended up turning laps 2 seconds faster than the other two cars at the end. And not terribly surprisingly, the longer wheelbase on the G35 helped it turn slightly faster laptimes than the Z.

If you look at the best laptimes on the result at the end of the vid... the best lap for the Z is 3tenths slower than the M3 and 2tenths slower than the S2000. It also would have been more fair if they turned off some stuff on the Boxster and ran the S version with 250ps against those cars. I also suspect the Boxster was "underdriven" as I know a standard trim Boxster with the silly electronics off is nearly as fast as an S2000 and the S annhilates it.

Yeah, the AE86 completely took out the R34 Skyline. It goes to show you what the Initial D car can do! Go Keiichi Tsuchiya!
