maybe its just me, but it really seems like i hear the whistle of a blower there?

the high pitched sound is the transmission gears. regular cars have them refined for quietness, racing guys dont care they just want performance. ever notice that whine when you drive in reverse? the reverse gear isn't refined for low noise since we hardly use it.

Amazing. Its fun to watch the track, and think "Hmmm I usually crash there when I play"

I thought he had crashed when he hit that bump at 3:50 and the camera went out and there was a crunch. But it was not the case!

holy christ, sub 8:37 round the 'ring?! thats insane.
yeah that's a pretty intense lap, anything under 9:00 is excellent.

Side note, is the M3 GTR just a track version of the M3 CSL or does it have a souped up engine too?

Also, he smoked a couple of Porsches in there that looked like 911 GT2s, you'd think those would be able to moderately keep up with the M3.

Are you kidding? Did you hear that beast? Sounded a lot different than the csl on top gear. Tho I could be wrong.

Some info on the gtr.

Close, but this is the car that the video is taken with, much different from the street version 🙂

I believe it's got a v8.

355 BHP

Try 470hp. This is a race car...not a street car.

Gran Turismo 4 has it also.

EDIT: Did anyone else notice him get a little sideways coming out of the Mini-karousel? He's got some seriously good reflexes to be able to keep that car in check.

Holy Balls. That dude made my run at it in Project Gotham 2 look like child's play....

They better have this track in GT:4.

Thanks OP, awesome vid.

They do have this track on GT4, the entire 10+ miles of it...

I managed a sub 10 minute run for the A license in GT4. You need to do a sub 8 minute run (IIRC) for your superlicense but I haven't gotten quite that far yet.

I hadn't researched GT4 at the time when I posted that 😛

I pulled a 6:55 in GT4 with my 500hp M3 CSL. 6:51 With my 600hp GTO. Its a fun track, I still have a lot of practicing to do.
