m2 heat spreader

docp

Senior member
hi all,
I am using intel 530 ssd in m2 format. i am noticing it gets warm like 55-60 degree while transferring downloaded files. do you recommend heat spreader or alike. ?

thanks.

Heat spreaders on NVMe can degrade the nands.
They like to run hot, however the controller does not.

I would let it be unless you start noticing lag, which is typically a sign of a overheating controller.
Or unless you do large amount of data read and writes, which can lead to your controller again, overheating.

But for day to day typical usage, that temp is nothing to be worried about.

thanks a lot.I would follow your advise.
just disabled the software which would show temp in taskbar.so no more worries.
