ok, just got this thing..here are my 1st impressions

* the mouse is too small....it's comfirtable and does not stand too tall, but some reason, they've made it too thin to fit corretly in my hands. again, microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0 is still king in this department.

* default with no software installed, the mouse almost tracks too fast...which means I would need to install the software to slow it down :(

* the scroll wheel is an improvement to the intellimouse mouse explorer 4.0, but still falls behind the 3.0

* the forward button is place on the right side of the mouse...which I hate! the back button works as it should located on the left side.

* there's no annoying red glow at all!!! lift it up and you don't see the red flashing dot either..yay! :) but almost to a point where I miss it... ;)

have not tried gaming yet...but I would imagine this mouse would rock due to it's precision....playing at 1920x1200 my explorer 4.0 lacks a little bit in tracking...I would gain that back and improve on precision I think...but I won't know this until I go home to try it out.

overall, it's a decent mouse, but I would not buy this for home use...for work, it's just fine, in fact, overkill. if you hate the red glow, get this mouse, you will like it just for that fact alone.
