M/B With 64 Bit PCI Slots & AGP Slot that O/C's!

Wanted: Motherboard that overclocks to the extreme with some 64 bit PCI slots and an AGP slot

Does it exist?

The reason I'm after a great overclocking motherboard with some 64 bit PCI slots is that I want to combine it with a high performance 64 bit, PCI, SCSI RAID controller card.

There are 32 bit PCI SCSI RAID controller cards available but I don't want to restrict the bandwidth which a normal 32 bit PCI slot will surely do.

All of the motherboards I have seen (so far) with 64 bit PCI slots do not have an AGP slot. I gues they are aimed at server use, not gaming use.

I am open to type of motherboard, AMD Athlon64, AMD Athlon 64FX or Intel P4.

Tyan's Thunder K8W (2885) is your friend. Dual Opterons, AGP 8x Pro110, four PCI-X slots on two independent busses (one with a Gbit Ethernet chip on), plain PCI on yet another bus (with a SATA RAID controller on).

On the Intel side, you'd have to look for something using the E7505 or ServerWorks Grand Champion WS chipsets.

All of these are serious big iron workstation boards. Do not expect to find overclocking toys on them. They're solid performers as they are, with the emphasis on "solid".

Thanks. Yes, I've had a look at Tyan boards, but what I'm after is a single CPU board really if possible.

I may be asking for too much!?

Tyan might be making a single-CPU version of their board - but much like their other ones, it'll be the same thing minus the CPU socket and its DIMM slots and stuff.

You can always go with the dual board and plant just one CPU on. That's OK, and leaves some headroom should you later need to go Even More Serious about what you're trying to do there.
