M/B suggestion...for Opteron 144/146/165...

looking to change to amd from my P4 rig just to learn more about the amd setup. i haven't had an amd since my xp2000 machine and figured it was time to learn more about the memory controller, o/c it and general useability.

i have chosen to go either a opteron 144, 146 or 165 and need a m/b recommendation.

the key to the m/b recommendation is that i need a agp slot. i was going to go with the asrock pci-e/agp board but have read that a lot of people need to run 2 sticks @ 2T.

i would like a board with agp, 5pci slots, 2-4dimm slots, uses a 20pin atx connector (if possible) onboard sound (nothing special), that is about all i require.

i will be bring over everything from the rig in my sig as far as ram, hdds, gpu, etc.

brand doesn't really matter but i don't want to spend a lot on this board, and i don't need the ultimate o/c board (but would like some V adj, but don't need 4V on the ram or anything that drastic) as i would rather have reliability over anything else.

my current rig is extremely stable and i want to replace it with one equally as stable.

i am not loyal to one brand, so i would try anybrand that offers what i desire

thanks in advance 🙂

in order of importance:
1. reliability
2. o/c abilty

after the changeover is complete, my P4 rig will go up for sale
