M/B not reading ultra 100

Just went out and bought a WD 40gb 7200rpm ultra ata 100 hard drive and it runs fine but my board say's ultra 100 bios not loaded because no drives are connected, any thought's on this?

What kind of board do you have? Are you sure you have it connected properly on the MB? My asus a7v133 has separate ide channel for ATA 100 drives.

Does your mb have on-board RAID/ATA-100 connectors in addition to the primary & secondary IDE connectors (as in the a7v133)? If it does and there's nothing connected on them, the RAID/ATA-100 BIOS will not load if you have it set to auto-load in the mb's BIOS.

It is a SY-K7V Dragon plus and yes it does have RAID but I am not using the two Raid contollers, so makes sense if that's what the message is refering to. Thank's
