M.2 860 EVO 512 GB issue with write speeds

Hi,

I bought a new 512GB Samsung 860 M.2 EVO SSD mounted on the only slot I have on my AsRock Z170m Extreme4 motherboard with a i7 6700K. Writing speed are slower than the benchmarks I've seen on the internet. Like ~500/~300.

I had a previous 840 EVO (3.5 drive not M.2) on a sata cable and the benchamrks were ~500/~500 read/write.
I must mention that the old drive was empty when I tested it BUT the new M.2 drive was almost full with a C:/ System partition of 60 gb and a D:/ Games partitio of 400+ GB.

My BIOS is set on AHCI. The drive is GBT.
Write chache is enabled.
Tested with Samsung Magcian and Crystal Mark (same results)
No power saving enabled.
Windows 10 x64
M.2 slot: Ultra M.2 Socket, supports M Key type 2242/2260/2280 M.2 SATA3 6.0 Gb/s module and M.2 PCI Express module up to Gen3 x4 (32 Gb/s)

Is it because it is quite full and partitioned?

Found the answer; lack of space was the issue. Moved some games and freed more space on the M.2 SSD. All good now.
