LvlLord TCPIP Patch still working nowadays?

Hi all,

I just reformatted my hard drive. As usual, after a clean format, I installed ALL of the Windows Update, then I installed the ever popular LvlLord patch. Change the limit to 100, rebooted .. you know the drill.

Ok, I then installed Utorrent changed net.max_halfopen from 8 to 100.

These are my other Utorrent Settings:

Global maximum number connections: 600
Maximum # of connected peers per torrent: 150
Number of upload slot per torrent: 4

I think I set the numbers right (did I?) .. The problem is when I go to Event Viewer, I still see the warning about the TCPIP reaching its limit. I'm currently downloading 4 torrents right now (all at the same time) .. I don't even think it reached the limit because my DL speed is slow. I never had this problem before .. 🙁

Does the LvlLord patch still works? After the recent updates from Microsoft today? Did Microsoft made an update to screw up LvlLord patch?

Or its just me. I made something wrong with my settings?

Thank you.

EDIT: Port forwarding is set properly. I have a green check mark in utorrent status

The patch just deals with unopened connections, it doesnt affect transfer rates at all, its basically kinda useless 😉

wow really? its just a myth? lol ...

Thanks for the info.

Well, it doesnt affect open connections, it affects the rate in which connections can be established. It was added to slow down worm propigation from a box (some worms were so fast the darn boxes couldnt even connect out to get updates). So, if you get a list of 20 bad IPs from your tracker you'll see 10 try to establish and the other 10 get queued until the first set starts timing out. However, once established it doesnt change/throttle/effect you connection at all.
