Isn't the ES a Camry? Avalon is bigger, more comfortable, and smoother, no? My van has a slightly detuned version of the Avalon's engine (296 vs. 301hp), same tranny, so if she's a badass, but the hybrid is no slouch and it gets 42MPG.

The Lexus ES is built on the Toyota Avalon platform. This has been the case for the last 4-5 years or so.

No love for a pre-owned Mercedes S550? You take a pretty big hit on depreciation the first couple years but they’re kind of a bargain used.
