Most of us here use the "power of anonymity" to act more freely than we would in public. Especially at YoYo's wedding I met several AT members and I think we would all agree that while we may genuinely dislike many of the opinions of people on here, in person I'm really glad I met them. It reminded me that there is indeed real people on the other side of the keyboard you're smashing while trying to come up with AT's usual caustic remarks.

I never really doubted this was true. Dave's posting style and history have contributed towards making him a target here, but the sorry-assed trolls who are so desperately wedded to putting him down at every turn are the real-life losers.

...ironic...

But yeah, I have no doubt he's a good guy - just had a string of bad luck and has used the intarwebs to vent.

Cool! I had JLee and his sister visit me a couple months ago. It is strange having someone into your home who you've never actually met in real life but I'd do it again despite the little bit of initial trepidation.

I'm sure most people here actually have much more in common than they disagree on... or at least it wouldn't be nearly as big an issue as it seems when you're posting here.

I had lunch today with David McOwen and his lovely wife Debi. Have to say, they are great folks, really nice, funny and interesting, and I enjoyed it a lot. I post this only because some of the newer folks might judge him solely by the heat he gets from some of the other long time residents.

Other than that, Merry Christmas Anandtech!
Glad you had a good time breaking bread with Dave and his wife. There are a ton of folks here I'd be pleased to meet with, and I have met quite a few.
Merry Christmas!

By posting style you mean lying and history you mean repeatedly, then yes.. you are correct. Honestly, I think the real life losers are the ones that take this shit so seriously that they call people and threaten them for what they have posted here. Know anyone like that?

I never asked any Mods to delete any thread.

Ask the Mods yourself to confirm.

The above event did in fact happen.

Call the Delaware County Sheriffs office for the confirmation.
Wow, you want to waste law enforcement's time on your fictional troll tale. What is wrong with you?
