lumpy bumpy driving in a new car.

Ok this is the second day of driving it.
It has sports wheels rated z I think but anyhow the first day it was great.
I did park on some compacted snow and thought nothing of it but once the car engine was warmed up I started backing out and it felt like I was running over either large packs of snow or a dead animal.

I got out to make sure no animal was under my car and I have no flat tires.
No sounds of wild animals in the engine bay trying to stay warm either.

So finally I thought it might be compacted snow that became ice that might be in my wheel well area.
I got onto the clean street free of any ice and snow and it felt like it was getting worse! I put my hazards on and looked and everything seemed ok so I got back in and got angry thinking I might have to return the car to the dealership.

I wanted to drive it to the local gas station and give it a better look over.

Again once there everything appeared just fine and all the lug nuts were tight and no tires falling off.

But after visiting the gas station the lumping driving got less and less.

OK what the hell! No sign of ice in the wheel well and well I am stumped.

Think it could have been ice or a dead animal carcass?

Finally once at work the the bumpy driving stopped.

My co worker has z rated tires and he says it is common for performance tires to go flat on one side because of the cold. He said driving will heat them up then the frozen area will go away. #lol

Nice to remember.

Ha! yeah most snow is gone off the road so I do think this storm is done with. If it snows any it will be this weekend then end. yeah I could be wrong but oh well. I have a spare 4x4 to use anyway.

Ugh, even if the roads are clear, summer tires have much much less grip than normal. Don't do anything foolish.

Summer tires get flat spotted when sitting, even overnight, and the cold doesn't allow them to be as elastic as normal. My CTS-V felt like it was on square tires for the first mile if it sat for a couple days. Was wore in winter of course.
