So, this phone is selling for a $1 (and I think $49 directly from Verizon) for both new contracts and upgrades on Amazon. Any owners have additional thoughts after using it for a while?

I don't have a 928... actually I just canceled my Verizon plan and moved to prepaid to save money. The phone I got to replace my Galaxy Nexus is a Lumia 521.

Now, this phone is much lower end than the 928. It's only 1 GHz (still dual core though), with only about 5 GB of internal storage, no camera flash, and not the most impressive screen. But I actually really like it. Windows Phone is a very cool OS, extremely fast and lightweight. If my Lumia 521 can run it well (I think it's actually faster than my Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.2), the 928 should have no problems at all.

I told my wife it was a good thing we got married before I met this phone. ;)

Definitely happy with it. Battery life is great.

I pulled the trigger on the 928 and I have had it for a few days and I love it. :DThe 928 is bright and colorful, apps download quickly and it works smooth as butter. No complaints except not looking forward to the monthly bill.

Really enjoying using mine. Still hardly any app usage but everything about the OS itself is really intuitive and has done everything I'd want it to so far. The only bit I didn't catch on to naturally was how to "right click" as it were to get the expanded options for an object, but it's simply touch and hold which is now seamless to me.

I've had the 928 since early June and am rather happy with it. I am not one for apps, esp. since the credit/bundle with the VZW purchase ran up about a month ago, however the restrictions by MS on the phone's sw are the cause of most annoyances. I am exposed to phones a lot with work, and after the iOS 7 update on iphones, I'd say apple has drastically strayed from their optimization of UI on the minimalistic hardware that a respondent likened WP8 to iOS with: all the 4s's and some of the 5's I have worked with are horridly slow in the native settings menu... I mentioned how I despise Apple products, but I thought the performance was embarrassing on the devices!

The only lingering thing about my phone that bug me are the lack of microSD, an internal battery, horrible NFC implementation, and a lack of data/info/configuration on core components.... How difficult is it to let me know what my link speed on 802.11n is, and why is denying me this info making the phone better?

I do not see a need for quad or octa core chips on WP8 in the same screen-size as my 928, and I would rather see custom contexts for voice/volume/sound/brightness and more granularity to them than a larger screen or higher resolution... though, having a micro-HDMI out port would be nice, and one of the stacked batteries like the new LG has would be nice.

For the time being; I try to charge my phone between 85-100% battery level, charge with an ext charger powered by Li-ion or Nimh cells (undervoltage), and/or place the phone on a cooling device while charging: The lasting thing I want is the internal battery crapping out before I am eligible to upgrade. Really a shame all the carriers force you to purchase a data plan.... I regularly see "1.9 of 2gb remaining" in data sense, with only 3 days until it resets, but that is more hatred toward VZ than my Lumia.
