Been looking for a deal on the 640. Nice piece of hardware for the money. Best Buy is supposed to have some for $30 on BF, but it is questionable whether anyone can get that price without camping out or fighting crowds. AT&T unlocked 635's on a recent deal, provided you hadn't turned them on with the sim installed.

No need to camp out. If your Elite or Elite plus the deal is live today only.

You become a My Best Buy program Elite member by spending $1500 at Best Buy or BestBuy.com or spending $1500 on your My Best Buy program Visa during a calendar year. A My Best Buy program member qualifies for Elite status approximately 15-20 days after the member spends a total of $1500 on qualifying purchases (see Non-qualifying purchases above).
You become a My Best Buy program Elite Plus member by spending $3500 at Best Buy or BestBuy.com or spending $3500 on your My Best Buy program Visa during a calendar year.

Meh, I think I pay $10 more and buy from Microsoft store rather than camping out or spending that much there... I mean seriously, there prices are almost always worse than online, except for BF, to spend $1,500+ there per year... no way.

Could someone do me a favor and compare the 640 against a peer competitor like the Moto E which is available via Cricket for $35 currently? Would be serving as a phone for an Au Pair and perhaps as a backup personal phone for me.

Lumia 640 vs Moto E:

5" screen vs 4.5" (Lumia has higher pixel density and better in sunlight as well)
8 MP rear camera w/flash vs 5 MP no flash (Lumia wins big on low light, even when flash is off)
Windows vs Android

Those should be the main differences. I think performance and battery would be about the same.

Remember. Windows phones have far fewer Apps available.

Instagram is in Beta right now as an example.

My Wife and my Mom use the 640 on Tmobile and it is a STELLAR phone if you are not app heavy.
