Just ordered over the phone. Total came to $407 and a few cents with ground shipping. not bad. I remember my best friend ordered an ATI TV Wonder from them a few years ago before they were bought out by fry's and I swear to god he ordered at 11pm the night before and it was here at 12:30pm the next day. Now that is what I call speedy delivery.

I put an order for the 6800 GT with futurepowerpc.com but was kinda pissed when they said it would ship till august 10th. the minute I clicked FluxCap's link I called outpost and asked how many they had in stock. well they said that they had 12 the other day but now they had 7 left so immidetly called future power pc and cancelled my order with them and called outpost right back and placed my order over the phone. will be here in 3-4 business days.

Man, I just can't believe how hard it is to find one of these damn video cards. At least they didn't gouge me like other sites are doing. I'd rather pay a few bucks over retail than $20-$60 any day. It's a shame it's not for my PC. I bought it for my best friends PC, now I will be able to play DOOM 3 on my Sanyo Z2 Projector with 6.1 surround sound on high. :D At least they will be easier to find and hopefully cheaper by the time I build my new PC later this year. I bought my 64MB portable MP3 player from Outpost.com in 2000 for $100 cheaper than retail price. they have pretty good deals sometimes.

I figured I'd just get the damn video card since it's hard to find at a decent price without selling your soul now and worry about the other parts later. I'm sure it won't be hard to get my hands on an Athlon 64 right? hehe... Sucks I might have to wait at least 1 1/2 weeks after DOOM 3 is released before I can experience this awesome game. oh well, at least I won't have to settle for medium settings now heh.

Pretty good deal IMO, anyone interested should jump NOW! just 6 left but as of this writting there might not be any left. good luck to all.

Cool. At least it's in stock. However with shipping it is too high for me :p I also don't want to buy a PNY anymore.

I ordered mine at about 12:00 (EST) and I just called. The guy said they were out of stock now (had 11 in inventory and 16 orders), but he said they are getting another shipment this coming Tuesday. So, either way I shouldn't have to wait too long with 2 day shipping :D

WOW! that was fast! Man these things are flying off the shelfs. I'm glad I ordered when I did. I just checked my bank account and they already charged the amount for the card. should get it on saturday or tuesday at the latest. And check out the DOOM 3 Hardware guide: DOOM 3 Hardware Guide

It's nice to know I can play the game comfortably on my current rig. But I won't since the copy I'm getting next week is to only be run on my best friends PC which this video card will go in. Damn I can't wait!!!

After wating on these backorder ETAs for a while, you will also understand that these promises of "we'll be getting another shipment on so-and-so" are not to be trusted, because of the current supply shortages. So you could be in (most likely) for a very long wait.

BTW, I think this deals is pretty good for whhoever got in on it, especially if there is no tax. Their shipping rates are quite reasonable too.

I ordered mine this morning around 9am, and I called for a status check a few minutes. It is packed, shipping out today, and will be here tomorrow. :)

The same great HardOCP Doom3 guide clearly shows a 9800pro @ 1024 x 768 with High details as very playable.

Enough to keep me patient for these 6800gt to be cheap and available.

Call them and find out. My guess is that they are in stock because they said they were yesterday and shipped mine out yesterday. So most likely they received another batch.

Just order it, because sometimes the CSRs will say OOS even when it is really instock.

If you guys live close enough to a fry's, I say walk on in and pick one up. That's what I did and they had a couple more on the shelf (in Oregon). Cousin's somewhere in kali and said the fry's there had a few instock too.
