I personally had an IBM 75GXP 30GB drive die after only two weeks' use. But I have to give credit to IBM Customer Service though. I shipped the drive back to them for RMA and they shipped me back a brand new 60GXP 30GB drive in about 7 working days. I think that's pretty good service. I haven't installed the 60GXP yet but I heard it doesn't fail as much as the 75GXP. I have yet to see if this is true.
As I said in an earlier thread, this drive is great when it works - fast and quiet. And the $101 price is a good deal. I would just get a copy of Norton Ghost and make regular backups to CD-RW and things should be okay. (or set up RAID-1 mirroring.)
