My wife and I had an argument over the ending. She was horrified when Mr. Goodkat 'offed' Lindsey, and couldn't believe it. Later, as they revealed the convulated plot to save her, she started to regain her composure.
I, on the other hand, thought it was a weak way to go. They built up all the steam to reach a climax with The Rabbi and Boss together and their untimely fate, and then squandered it by drawing the movie out to save her. I was happy to find out there was an alternate, less-cudly ending where everyone doesn't come out happy, with what they want. You know, Life Sucks, Get a Helmet. This guy is raised by a hitman, with only revenge on his mind for decades, and we're expected to believe he'll toss it all away for a girl he's only known for a handful of days.
I'm hoping to get some form of consensus here that other people felt the same way, even discounting those who will vote just because it's opposite of what I want. Or maybe get a better explanation of how/why it had to be that way.
