so...i got myself a "reply back for prize" email through my relativly new gmail account.
im saddened by this. i dont use the address for anything but friends and i get this crap...
WHY?!?!
WHY!!!???!!!!
i thought gmail was supposed to rock the garbage out.

True. But it depens on your name. My main account has never gotten unsolicited junk. I opened a second account that I hadn't used since July and I found it SWAMPED.

That's a good point. Most of my email addresses are chunks of my name which are never real words. It'd take a helluva long time for a random generator to match my email. 😛

ive got 50 invites! i gave myself another address for my free pr0n0!

seriously, its only my buddies and i think maybe newegg, dell and the nyt.
i do have other spam, but ive never seen any in my inbox until now.
the name is quasi-common...as in its a name/word. not like a word-name-number combo jumble.
