Lucked out getting an Xbox!!

got an xbox today. Brand new. Opened it up, and voila... SAMSUNG DVD DRIVE!! |YIPPEE|

now, to think about modding... what modchips does everyone recommend. This is definetly a version 1.6 xbox!

Where was the site with pictures for the different drives? I think mine is a samsung but I can't remember..

BTW, modchips being a slightly less than legal activity, their discussion is questionable on these forums. IIRC.

i got mine in october, has a samgsung drive as well based n that pic compairing them, however every one i have seen that was purchased thsi fall has also had that drive

blackinches believes modchips aren't illegal. its the software that is on the modchips thats illegal.

nothing wrong with discussing the actual modchips. Just dont go into piracy and you should be fine.

Heard the Samsung drive is the best but I believe I have a Thompson and it reads everything I throw in it.

Cool deal now all you have to do is get a decent mod chip and load up Xbox Media Center
