Recently, there was the XPP Performance Tour, and I registered each time online.

However, after knowing my non luck, I bought myself an XP1800 with an Epox 8KHA+. I have no less then 5 >1 Gig PC's running in my work area (mine), and I only use one or two.

I just got an email that I won a prize worth $290 (GA7DX and 1800).

What is the best thing to do? Give it to charity? Don't accept the prize? This isn't a brag post, I just wondered what the AT community would do..

Well I am typing this on a P200 MMX... A Packard Bell no less... hehe.

Dedicate it to that cure for cancer distributed computing effort or something...

I'd say be somewhat charatable. Do a drawing on ATOT for the processor+mobo combo to see who gets it. There are plenty of people like silverpig who have low-end machines, and would appreciate it more than a "full" charity would.

Sell for top dollar on eBay, treat yourself to a six pack or a nice thick steak, give the balance to your favorite charity.

Or skip the you part and give all the money to charity.

Treat yourself to a nice tax deduction, for a charity donation.

I don't know if you can donate computer hardware to charity directly, but if you really don't want the parts, you could sell them and then donate that money to charity. Just a thought.

Or, if you don't like that suggestion, kindly tell them that you've no need for the prize and to please give it to the next lucky contestant.
