Is there a new DSL standard called G.Lite?

Yeah it's for people who are too far away from the CO to get regular xDSL.

So if I have DSL in my area, G.Lite doesn't concern me? also, what are the different xDSLs and what is the difference between them?

g.lite was ratified a while ago.

it's a up to 1 mbps subset of adsl...

And with G.Lite, the DSL company or phone company doesn't have to install a splitter at your location...all you do is plug in the G.Lite DSL modem and start surfing? Correct me if I'm wrong...
