Lucas Opens Singapore Studio
Star Wars creator George Lucas has founded a new television and digital animation movie studio in Singapore. And the new studio's first project is Clone Wars, a TV series based on the Star Wars universe, which is due to hit screens in 2007. Lucas is expecting his new studio, which is based on the experience of Industrial Light & Magic and LucasArts, to set a precedent to the rest of the animation industry and to train "a new generation of digital artists". Chief technology Officer Cliff Plumer says, "We're leveraging not only the technology, but the expertise and the techniques developed over the years at Industrial Light & Magic and LucasArts to train a new generation of digital artists at our Singapore studio."

Cliff notes:
1) We're firing just about everyone we can at the Ranch and ILM.
2) Hey, we got Singapore for pennies on the dollar and no labor disputes to worry about either!

I don't know if that's gonna work...a Star Wars TV show? I think they'll get the Enterprise effect.

And are they gonna get cameos from Christensen and McGregor? I think not.

umm Clone Wars has been out for at least 2 years now allready, it was/is on cartoon network, there are 3 seasons so far, and they got the real actors to do the voices,

how is this new?
