LSAT prep course? (with poll!)

I have a BSEE and have been out of school for 3 years. I am planning on applying to law school and so I need to take the LSAT. I've heard a lot of mixed advice on Kaplan and similar review courses for the LSAT.

What have been your experiences with it? Would you recommend it again?

i am taking it in either dec or next year

and from what i've read it is powerscore or nothing avoid kaplan or princeton review like the plague

In my opinion, it depends if you have the dicipline to study on your own or not. I am taking a Prep class right now for GMATS, and without it, I don't think I would do nearly as much studying as I do right now. Totally worth it for me =)

I took Princeton Review for the LSAT. I was very busy at the time and having a structured scheduele really helped. I went up quite a bit from my original practice tests. Well worth it in my opinion.

I am taking the LSAT on October 2nd. Did my studying on my own and I will let you know how it turns out without a prep course.
For background info, I graduated in 2000 with a BS in biology but have been working as an analytical chemist.

I have also been out of school for three years and when I took TestMasters last winter, I really liked the structure.

i decided not to go to law school, so it wasn't worth it for me. But if you do actually enroll, it would worth your time.

Interesting, why avoid the others and go for this one? I was looking over their site and they are more strict with who teaches and offer more hours of class time for the dollar. Any other reasons?

i know a few people that took the kaplan course and said it was not worth it

my sis has a friend that teaches a kaplan and her friend said it is not worth the money

i have read online that kaplan and princeton review courses are basically the same

powerscore also uses official questions from past LSATs where kaplan and princeton make up their own
the general consensus is powerscore literature is superior to kaplan and princeton review materials (since they use official test questions)

that is all i can remember right now but im sure there is more
