Need help in getting into computer that was/is infected possibly with the Lsass.exe virus, I cannot access Windows XP Pro it starts loading then goes to a page showing a security error X000_ _ _ # and gives the option to restart. I can't access the repair menu cause I can't get by the admin password screen even when just hitting the [Enter] key it states wrong admin password. Any ideas on how I can access this computer without reformating? Would a duplicate install of windows help?

This should be in Operating Systems, not Highly Technical.

By the "repair menu," do you mean you pressed F8 when it was booting to go into safe mode or whatever? If that doesn't work, which is what I think you're saying, a Windows CD might let you get in. Otherwise I'd suggest getting a Knoppix live cd to get at your hard drive and do whatever you need to.

Yes, tried to safe mode in to get into anything I could and it just keeps going back to the same senerio, also tried the XP CD to get into the repair function and that's where I can't get past the admin password requirement.
