lsass.exe taking alot of CPU time?

dawks

I just hopped on my other system via remote desktop and was having a look at the taskmanager when I noticed that lsass.exe has been using a large amount of CPU time.. 20 hours worth in the last month that the system has been running. In comparison, my system has been running for just a little less time and that same process has only used 3minutes of CPU time.

After observing the taskmanager for a few minutes, I've noticed that that process is also spiking in processor use. Every 5 seconds it jumps to 25% CPU, along with Logonui.exe, which jumps to about 10%.. they do it syncronized.

Nothing is running on the system except remote deskop, du meter, and LClock..

A Lower-case L was used in the title. (rather a bit of a flaw in the font isn't it? Just like in Times New Roman, a 1 looks just a lower-case L. Lets all just switch to Wingdings.)

Scanned with McAfee, Trendmicro online scanner, and Ad-Aware 6.

System is running firewall and also hiding behind NAT.

Only user that would have gotten a virus is using firefox, and also running as a limited user.

I rebooted and the process isnt acting up yet.
