LS 120

Is there any thruth that I would experience a performance"hit" on my harddrive if I run an ATA33 device on the same IDE channel. This is IDE 1 ATA100 on an MSI K7 Turbo. I would like to run an LS120 as a slave on the same channel. Thanks group

I'm not quite sure but there might be a problem.
And I think the LS-120's run on PIO 4 not ATA 33,
so that would cause a performance hit. I put my
LS 120 on one cable with my DVD drive.

you are right. sorry about that. I wonder how significant the hit would be? I have my CDRW & CD on the other channel. So only one place for the ls120 to go

The myth that one IDE device on a channel slows down another is an old PC Tech wive's tale. You'll be fine.

Now, if you can point me to a hot deal on LS120s... I'm all ears!

Why wouldn't you buy from Canada. When taking exchange into account I can't understand why more people don'y but here. Remember your dollar buys at a rate of about 1.47 to 1.00.
