I have been fighting with printer installations and have tried all the obvious and not so obvious solutions.
LPT1 works in DOS, not in win98se. I have formatted and re-installed win98se, changed port drivers, tried lpt.dos, cleared nvram and cmos, run trojan and A/V programs, cleaned Registry, etc., etc.
HP2100 laserjet and Hp deskjet work on my other system but will not install or print on this one- quantex p111/450, Award BIOs (non-flashable).
The only "event" I am aware of before printers stopped working was a Klez virus which I successfully removed.
What could be effecting LPT1 in Win98se that I havn't tried?
